About Fiona
Fiona lives on Wurundjerri woi-wurrung Country to the east of Melbourne. She is drawn to the vibrancy and quiet beauty of the world around us—flowers unfolding, birds mid-flight, light catching on leaves. Her work is a way of holding onto those fleeting moments of awe.
Whether it’s capturing the delicate beauty of a wedding bouquet or a bloom from a morning walk, each painting is created with the hope that it brings you a breath of calm, a spark of memory, or a gentle pause in your day to feel present and inspired.
Fiona has been fortunate to have had many many learnings and encouragement over the years. From her Grandma Mary Pratt and Nanna Ilma Read, various teachers in-person and online, from reading books and travelling the world visiting galleries, local markets and ancient art. Artists she's studied with include Terry Napier (Nature in Art), Liezel van der Linde, Richard Claremont, Clair Bremner, Jessica Watts, Lana Daubermann, and Natalie Martin.
Currently she's enjoying working in oil, acrylic, and watercolour — exploring tone and colour, female Impressionists and understanding the colonial influences on the art she grew up loving; and is interested in how emotional states while painting finds its way into the final work.
Thank you for stopping by to enjoy the artworks here.
